Shop update preview – for Friday

Shop update is Friday instead of Thursday this week. Same time, 8pm BST, but thought it made more sense to post parcels out on Monday, thus avoiding the threatened postal strike at the end of the week. In the SQuirkshop, I’m constantly striving to bring you new yarns, more colourways and where appropriate, more intense [...]

Triple Ripples

The last pair of Ripples (by Alabama Whirly) for Skein Princess’s friends completed. I hope she likes them – she chose the colours. I used Artesano Alpaca 4 ply in Teal with ripples of violet and black and the purple is a bit of Colinette. Four pairs down – next a pair of Snowflake Catchers [...]

Hibernating

Well, the good news is that the October club yarns went out this morning, a little earlier than usual – I’m hoping you’re going to love them – I’ve had some great feedback from visitors to the house over the weekend on the colours. For the second week in a row, I’m not well – [...]

Weekend knitting

I seem to inadvertently have started a craze for Ripples at Skein Princess’s school. Made these last weekend while travelling to and from Lyme Regis last weekend for one of her friends who likes green. I used SQ Plushness in Spring Buds and Blue Ice for the ripples. Then made these this weekend for her [...]

The Big Knit campaign

The lovely people at Innocent contacted me yesterday to spread the word about this year’s Big Knit campaign for Help the Aged and Age Concern. As with previous years, the idea is that we knit a little hat for their smoothie drinks which are then sold, resplendent in little knitted hat, through Sainsbury’s and 35p [...]

Fossil hunting in Lyme Regis

This weekend we had a day trip to the Jurassic Coast – World Heritage Site – to do a bit of fossil hunting as Skein Princess had been learning about Mary Anning at school. The museum was great – there was a talk on fossils by this guy who looked like one of those old [...]
